A Quick Update

Surprise...the package arrived Friday....3 hours after I left.

They finally left a tag on the door announcing they had been there and giving me a time that they will deliver on Monday. This means they finally got the address right!

What was interesting the tag indicated that this was their first delivery attempt even though they had been telling me last Wednesday, and Thursday that they had tried!!!

I am not holding my breath....but maybe, just maybe Charlie Brown will finally get to kick the football...actually, I think I would rather kick UPS.

...For... shoppers out there, completely avoid UPS for shipping from the states. They recently charged me $30 on a package just to calculate that I didn't owe any taxes.
What happens if I refuse to pay a 30 or 40 dollar UPS "brokerage fee" to get a ten dollar DVD I ordered from the U.S.?
I got a phone message today from UPS, saying they had a package addressed to me, and asked me to call them -- which I'm not going to do, because it's a long distance call to the Fort Erie number they left. The place I ordered the DVD from had used the postal service previously, and had not given me any indication they would be using UPS this time.

What happens is.. you don't get your goods.

I guess that long distance call would have broke the bank.

If your vendor doesn't use US Postal Service stateside, then do NOT order from them.

Agreed. I e-mailed the place I ordered the DVD from, and they sent a replacement one through the mail, and said to ignore UPS, who also mailed me a bill claiming I owed them 26 dollars. They use UPS only inside the US but not for sending things to Canada, but they hire extra temporary workers in December and one of them must have forgot or wasn't told what to do.
