Fargo TV Series

Fargo is a really great TV series.
Just finished the first season.
It has the look and feel of the iconic 1996 movie Fargo without copying it and the show runner Noah Hawley pulls it off for the entire first season 10 episode story arc revolving around a hit man played by Billy Bob Thornton who, you know, just doesn't belong.
If you like Breaking Bad or True Detective there's a good chance you'll like this one.
Season 2 just started and has a rating of 96 on Metacritic. Not sure if I've ever seen a rating that high before.

Like The Bridge, this is a very well written show. But like The Bridge I don't think it will have legs. There's only so much that can be mined from small town mayhem, eventually it gets predictable.

Season 1 was brilliant with the discovery of a major new star in Allison Tollman, she did justice to the Francis McDormand role without copying it. I haven't seen Season 2 yet but if they can find another equally talented young actor then my assessment could be wrong.

Loved season one, but after 2 episodes of season 2, I find something is missing. I will watch a few more before deciding either way. I would have liked to see the same cast of police back for the 2nd season, just a new story line.
