The only danger I see to myself from this is if I trip over a dead addict and hurt myself. Watching the carnage from this shit I have started to wonder if the powers that be have decided to kill off the opiate addicts and wipe out the trade. But if someone knowingly takes fentanyl, and dies, well lets just say my sympathies and better spent elsewhere. There are far more tragic situations then that.

The Globe and Mail has been just beating this topic to death recently.

Frankly it doesn't even rank on my care list. I know I know, I'm a callous bustard.

These stupid fucks that are taking this shit get no sympathy from me. They know it's killing people but it will never happen to them in their mind.

Sister's friend works in the hospital and this is as big a deal as it's being made out to be.

The people that are the real losers in all of this are the ones who wait extra minutes for an ambulance they need while the paramedics are out saving the addicts who have done harm to themselves. They are the only one I have sympathy for in this mess.

I really hope with that attitude that nobody in your family ever has to deal with mental illness. The attitudes of you assholes here is something else.

I think a point a lot of you are missing is it's not just heavy opiate users who are affected. Fentanyl has been found to be laced in other more recreational substances and you should all be a bit more compassionate. Says a girl who's lost three friends in 2016 from accidental useage

So everybody who is using Fentanyl,...is mentally ill,...???

And coke,...and 420,...and heroin,...

Mind you some of the blame for the kids using illegal substances,...can be blamed on their parents for not raising their children,....but hey,... maybe the kids are just following in mommies foot prints.

I tend to agree that in most, if not all, cases the harm is self-inflicted, similar to smoking, alcohol and overeating.

Mind you some of the blame for the kids using illegal substances,...can be blamed on their parents for not raising their children,....
Good lesson for those of us who have kids. Don't take shit that might harm you. Ever noticed how some women won't accept a beer unless it is opened in front of them. Same caution here.

Before clicking on this thread I knew the type of callous posts I'd see.

Drug users don't deserve to die. With help they can recover and lead long productive lives.

Since you are Mr. Perfect. This is for people who have trouble in their lives and may need this message. No need to blame anyone, let's just get the message out. Someone somewhere may benefit from this information.

FAST you should educate yourself before you make sure ignorant comments, a lot of users overdosing on Fentanyl don't know they are taking Fentanyl. I would assume you also don't have any kids either.

See, I've never used drugs. Never even smoked a cigarette. I knew even as a kid that it was not good for my health or my wallet or my well being. It just does not make sense.

However, so many people now are advocating so intensely to legalize drug use. It's starting now with pot and a huge number of people are all for legalizing pot. Anyone who opposes the use of pot is labelled an old fogie who yells at clouds, etc. But see, I've given the use of drugs some thought and I don't see how you can ever stop it. It's like trying to blow out a camp fire. If you try to do that, the fire only gets more intense.

So in order to sleep better at night, I figure, if you want to use drugs to make you feel better, then knock yourself out. I don't really give a fuck what you want to do. Throwing users and dealers in jail is just a waste of tax money. As far as I'm concerned, smoke your brains out, toot toot away. I don't care. You are the maker of your own thrill and your own demise.

Just don't ask me to pay for you to go to rehab. Pay for it yourself. And if you die, don't blame society. Blame yourself. I'm a bit of a libertarian that way. I believe that people need to take personal ownership of their decisions. Too many victims out there thinking that they're owed a free ride. Pay for the ride yourself.

Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti said there are kids as young as 13 at these All Ages Parties. If true, that is too young. Also, where are their parents? Councillor Mammoliti also said there men in their 30's and 40's at these parties.

Healthcare resources is not unlimited. There has already been talk that smokers should not get lungs and alcoholics should not get livers as both organs are in limited supply and maybe they should go to people who don't abuse their bodies. I think John Phillips continued drinking after his first (and second?) liver transplants.

I am not too concerned about the deaths, but I do support safe injection sites. I say let the junkies come in a pay the small fee for a clean syringe and a shot of clinical quality opiate. This does several things to me. It takes tons of money away from the drug trade, reduces the disease associated with it substantially, and actually allows these addicts to live productive lives. Its really a win, win for society and it become like going to the pub. All research seems to indicate this is the way to go.
