Somewhere
Today officially marks the darkest day in the Toronto Maple Leafs franchise history. We've lost one of the greatest Leafs ever. I know this player had many many loyal followers here on Terb. The Leafs will never ever be the same again due to his departure.

Let's take a moment of silence to reflect on this tragic occasion.

I'm devastated! I don't think there's another player of his calibre in the entire league.

when he is in teh right spot (5/6)..hes simple and affective as he has been solid in many leaf playoff runs...fro a 5 or 6 i trusted him ALOT IN THE PLAYOFFSas much as many dumb leaf fans think its great its a hit........in crunch he knew how to do it..hes been there many times.....but these are the same fans who chant domi domi last game of regular season so we dont buy him out...we have the dumbest fans to go along with the crapiest managment i think its looking liek a better fit each day.......

iam a leaf fan...but majority are stupid as hell...wouldnt knock hockey if it kicked them in the balls

Kathleen you're a sweetheart, but regarding Quinn you are very wrong my dear. Since Pat is gone, I will admit Paul Maurice would be a nice fit, however.

Dimitri, you might want to read what you write ...
"we have the dumbest fans ....iam a leaf fan" ........
I can't really add anything to that.

i think Aki coulda turned into a great d-man had he not had the constant overseas distractions...

apparently at the farm back in Finland, his wife was caught by a family member with his (now ex) best friend from childhood, his dog died, and the farm wasn't doing too good... (maybe the pickup truck broke down too... i dunno)

had the leafs trade him to Nashville, he woulda had a prolific career there as he coulda became a good country singer with that much blues... or boooo's...

Maybe you should check the draft lists again, I'm sure there were guys picked that high, and higher, who never played a game in the NHL.

quinn

the little bit of respect the leaf team had was that man.....ill miss the times he listened to me rant at lakeshore...a good smart hockey man and his presence will be missed.....he did a great job for us..........aki stats

for a guy who doesnt get any chance ot be offensive he had pretty good numbers the one that i like are the playoff numbers

48 playoff games 1 goal 4 assits.....ONLY a MINUS-1 (for a guy thats so terrible always had to play with belak, lumme ect)..thats why berg was good in playoffs we was very reliable and diditn make to many mistkes...i was comfortable with him as 5 or 6...

kathleen your hot but you missed the boat on quinn i agreee......you will only realize what we lost when hes gone.....time will tell and prove that...quinn is quality..best active coach......just because he has belak on defence only 1 real top 6 forward and a mess in goal this year was he fired? its a scape goat and the man who should of got the axe was JFJ.....a man who has all teh power now...and can screw us up long term with his bonehead moves...i hope to god he doesnt fuck us up to badly

i just hope Maurice isn't Quinn's replacement... and if so, not for long. we want a playoff coach...not a guy who made it past the first round only once in 8 years of NHL coach..,

Hal-e-fuckin-luliah!!!!!

So he signs in Finland..... A no-body-checking league, I would assume....At least he knows what it's like to be "Finnished", being with the Leafs for a while!!!!!!!

Kat I think Pat Quinn is one of the best coaches in hockey. Based on the talent available to him, he got pretty much all anyone could from that team.

Aki played poorly as a leaf but in the Olympics he played very well on the big ice.....

I heard Berg was the best defense man on the team during practice and has huge talent, however he could not get it together in a game situation.
I guess Quinn stuck with him hoping he would turn it around.
It always seamed during the replay he would skate into the picture just after a goal had been scored in the leafs net.
Probably best for him & the team he moves on
