Yes, that's his cover story.
I am speculating about his real motivations.

"Person who lies a lot about Antifa tells false story about Antifa" is a reasonable assumption.

That said, Antifa groups in London have a greater history of violence than the ones on the West Coast of the US. It would be stupid to flee there if you actually thought "Antifa" was a unified organization.

It's so easy to infiltrate a white group. Much harder or impossible to to infiltrate Islamic groups unless you speak fluent Arabic or Farsi, can recite the Qu'ran frontward and backward and are also circumcized.

He probably was, but he had recently been arrested. He may have already been made as an informant so it wasn't any use to not burn him any more. Doubt we will know for some time.
