Cool, doesn't affect me in anyway, other than I can quite comfortably see all websites on my phone today.

Now were you for or against flash based sites before Steve Jobs made his 2cents public?
Because I'm sure you didn't give a flying fuck before Jobs said anything about it, right Mr. DJ? ;)

That's unfortunate. I'm all for a universal replacement, but flash is still everywhere.

It'll be a slow process, but again, I don't care... only Applue users care because their beloved Jobs told them so ....and so too went their $$$.
If it dies, it dies, doesn't matter to me, I get to see flash based sites today on my phone. :)

I'm perfectly aware of html5, but it's hardly "here". It was supposed to be here a long time ago but so far it's little more than talk

Again, no big deal for me.... phone can handle pretty much anything right now.
Can't imagine how others deal with the frustration of some sites having flash and not being able to view them. (BBerry, iPhone).

As for HTML5, Tang' is right.

First and foremost, HTML5 is not here yet and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is not expected to release any recommendation for at least three more years.
Until recently, mindful of the browsers war and how hard you worked to provide users with the same experience regardless of the browser, you would likely have dismissed the argument about an announced but yet-to-come version of the HTML language.

So why are we talking HTML5 today, a good three years ahead of its official release? We talk about HTML5 today because most browsers are already incorporating HTML5 capabilities in their latest versions.

Meh, good riddance. I uninstalled it from my phone a few days after I installed it, better not to render the flash ads.

You'll get ads regardless, flash or not. lol

However, that said, some sites still run on flash, nice to have the "play button" option if you want to view it or not.

Again, no problems here either way.
I have the option of running flash and if it goes bye-bye, guess what?
I'll still have no problems, life is great. :)

Did they ever get around to releasing a good 64-bit Flash for linux?
Yep a couple years ago.
64 bit Flash plays fine on Linux....;)

64 bit Linux is the way to go.
