Those Euros refuse to freeze in the dark so they are firing up their coal plants.

What would you expect them to do in the short run. In the longer run this will increase the move towards renewables which in the long run will be net positive but that does not happen overnight.

Germany's federal government is working to increase renewable energy commercialization, with a particular focus on offshore wind farms. A major challenge is the development of sufficient network capacities for transmitting the power generated in the North Sea to the large industrial consumers in southern parts of the country.

Why did McGuinty destroy our coal plants? They were burning clean coal.

We still have our log burning fireplace just in case the lefties go totally wacko and destroy all the pipelines.

China and India will love this in the long run. More natural gas freed up for them.
