Read the attached story which was written after he won silver as part of the team equestrian competition.

Well, he just won Gold in the individual competition. Amazing story - against all odds really.

Does the horse have to supply a urine sample too?
Don't know if your joking or not but YES - they do drug test the horse.

Not 100% on the details but there have been a few dq's because of the horse testing positive during these olympics.

Apparently whatever they give them makes them very high strung and super afraid of the hurdles (or whatever they call them in horse terms) Being so afraid of them will make them jump like crazy to not touch them.

I heard that it is a drug that makes there skin extra sensitive... so basically they jump better to avoid the pain.

Ya - something like that. I was watching a thing on it this morning. I think they said 3 horses and their riders were disqualified.

Really, this in itself should be enough to ban the sport from the olympics permanently.

Steroids is a personal choice that is only hurting the athlete. This is inhumaine. The IOC should raise shit and bar it for at least two olympics.

Our crack Canadian Government thinks our athletes can live, train, and compete on $18,000 a year that they fund them.................in this case does he have to feed the horse out of that too?

It wouldn't surprise me............yet we can continually write off millions of debt to other countries or send millions to countries for aid while people are starving on the streets here............unreal!

Maybe the tears are a result of that huge line of coke you just snorted.

Quote from the Article:
Lamaze remains bitter toward the anti-doping organization.

"Their policy is intended to catch cheaters," he said. "I had nothing to do with cheating. I was treated like a cheater when I was not. They wanted to destroy somebody's life."

Lamaze said it was a terrible time.

I wanted to change my mind on Lamaze, but the quote above shows that he is still the same Egomaniac that he was before winning the gold...

He was being strongly considered for flag bearer at the closing ceremony. Thank god he didn't get it.... then again we gave it to a trampolinist.

I wonder what would have happened if Canada decided to give the flag to a freaking horse. Now that would be something to see.

Shouldn't the horse be getting the medal
Well. . . . . . at least an apple
OR maybe his reward is to be put out to stud and get laid 10 times a day!!!

I once heard Secratariat's trainer say in a documentary about thoroughbred racing - "It's all about the horse it doesn't matter who the passenger is".

Equestrian show jumping is strictly for the rich.
It has no business being an Olympic sport

1. How many Equestrians are there from Hatti or Ethiopia? Uh none, they are so poor they would probably need to eat the horse.
2. Did this guy sacrifice for 4 years training to get to the games. Well he did give up blow for a period so he could get in
3. He is not an athlete, he is a passenger on a very expensive horse. If he got dime one from the government, something is terribly wrong

yes, and all walks of life should be represented... rich and poor.

-how many white guys own sprinting Olympic records as of recently? though, they seem to do very good when the cost of the sport escalates... hence, equestrian, kayaking, rowing, cycling, and swimming. just like how hockey is more expensive of a sport than football, soccer or basketball.

let's face it, some sports are dominated by the poor as they are cheaper sports to perform in. others are reserved for the rich.
