I'm going to be moving to the Peterborough area in a few months. I currently work out of Toronto, and it's a bit far of a drive every day. Does anyone know of any places in and around Peterborough that are hiring? The only real concern I have is medical benefits. I'm a diabetic, and having medical benefits is essentially like having an extra paycheque every month. Thank you for helping me out.

Good luck. The Peterpatch is not an economic epicenter.

Have a look at the Peterborough this Week and the Examiner...I think you can find thier classifieds online. The City website also has job listings, as does the University and the College (don't know what you are looking for but these three employ a wide range of trades/skills-sets).

Ventra plastic, Strano foodservice, Fisher-guage, Quaker/Pepsico are all names that quickly come to mind---might as well check them out. For more I would suggest surfing the web...I think PTBO has a economic development office, they could probably let you know of other companies in the area.

What type of work? There are jobs but it may depend on what you are looking for.

I've worked mainly in manufacturing. I would also like to get an apprenticeship.

Insulin. Syringes. Type one diabetic, not type two.

I'm type 2. Have friends who are both.

Talk to Trillium. They may be able to offset some of your costs.:)
