Eli Wallach RIP

Eli Wallach, one of the great character actors of his day has passed away at the grand old age of 98.

He was part of the original stage cast of 12 Angry Men, and went to have great roles in The Misfits, The Magnificent Seven, Lord Jim, The Deep and finally Mystic River.

But he is best remembered for this:

The Good The Bad and The Ugly is one of my all-time favorite movies. Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef were marvelous in it but Eli Wallach stole the show.

Eli Wallach was a great character actor and he provided a great contrast to the quiet Eastwood character but the central character was always the man with no name. I would never go to see a movie about Tuco.
