Edmonton man pleads guilty to killing escort

EDMONTON - An Edmonton man accused of killing an escort and burying her body in the backyard of his home has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Court heard that Matthew Todd Barrett called an escort service last June and 20-year-old Chantel Robertson arrived at his door around 2:30 a.m.

As Robertson was getting ready to leave, Barrett grabbed her and strangled her.

Barrett then tossed her body out the window and dug a shallow grave in his backyard with a crowbar and a dustpan.

I don't see how this was second degree, clearly first degree as he had time to think and plan for the murder. In either case I hope he deserves to rot in jail. I hope they consider certifying him as a dangerous offender.

Perhaps because he did it so stupidly, if he had thought about it, he would not have told them his address, and buried her in his own backyard. Still, he should get life with no parole.

Heard that fuckface killed her because he didn't have enough to pay and pay for rent. So instead of sending her away and pissing her off, he killed her.

WTF is that? How utterly fucking bizarre. No parole on this fucko for 25 in my view and then still heavy heavy recommendation against parole. Who would be so flip about killing someone? Like WTF?????
