I sometimes 'take care of myself' in the shower before an mp session;- Early Finish Insurace Policy (EFIP). Don't worry I make sure all evidence is gone. So the question is: Does everyone do this, or is it just me? Be honest. This somewhat backfired a while ago when the MPA encouraged MSOG!

If I know I am seeing an sp that day, then I might whack off in the shower in the morning, but that is for fun, not to control PME, and I would never whack off right before I see an sp. I have to conserve my shots, because I usually don't have a PME problem, and if anything, I have the opposite problem.
Back-Fired
It back-fired on me recently. I took care of myself the morning of a 1/2hr lunch session with a sp. It was not her fault at all. In fact she was really great.

Obviously we went over the alloted time, but I just couldn't get it off. I would've stayed longer had there not been a schedule meetin at work (BTW, I was late).
I told her I will be back to finish the job. Have not done so, but planning to shortly.

I often just ask for a quick HJ right away, then get to a longer finish at the end. Most MPA's have obliged!
Actually asking for the quick HJ at the beginning was suggested to me by an MPA.

Pregame Jitters...
I find, if nothing else, rubbing one out before any appointment--going to the Ballet/body massage/date allows me to relax and enjoy the session more...y'know, like how atheletes puke before a big game.
