Yeah, its almost as if drug barons have gotten the message.
Those are expensive shipments they're losing every time
Dude, the barons are laughing out loud. Venezuela is a minimal and laughable player in the drug transport. They are the Guinea pigs that get caught, so all other loads from other countries go through.

Trump is double-dipping. No Eptsein file release, and he`s able to grab the money of the oil.

Venezuela is not a drug-producing and/or transport country.

First of all, I didnt quote you in my previous post.
Second of all, you are doing exactly that, you appear to be tallying one up for your own team

Which is irrelevant because Canada =/= the US

If you cant see that under Trump OD deaths averaged around 60,000 to 70,000 and under Biden they average around 100,000 to 110,000, then its you who cant read graphs
You didn’t quote me but you seem intent on being willfully ignorant to my point.

My “team” is people not dying. That’s it.

I actually do credit Ford locally supporting a lot of the positive initiatives to reduce deaths.

And the initiatives to address and curb the poisoning of the drug supply with fentanyl isn’t unique to Canada, it has been an international effort.

Why are unable to acknowledge that this isn’t as simple as your dear leader coming in late to pick up the ball?

From what I've read VZ is a major transit point.
So regardless where the drugs come from, every time one of those boats gets blown up is a good day.

Venezuela is not a drug-producing and/or transport country
Not true. Read this CBC article:

Because shutting down the border and blowing up drug boats is a big contributing factor to lower OD deaths.
I am under no illusion that you can ever completely stop the drug trade, however.

I'll revisit this thread next year to see if the downward trend continues.

I’m not here to play your tally one up for my team nonsense on an escort review board.

Just merely sharing my knowledge as someone who has worked closely with EMS who understand the contributing factors to the trends.

All you’ve shared is your inability to read and interpret a graph beyond a single dubious piece of information you’ve extrapolated to fit a narrative.
I can only speak to what I know in our own jurisdiction.

Naloxone was always widely available here too, it’s the additional protocols and awareness that have made an impact.

That said, the trajectory across both periods is quite similar in both Canada and the US. In fact the very chart you’ve posted shows the decline began while Biden was president so this isn’t the “own the libs” win you think it is.

Correlation does not equal causation.

The rise of fentanyl along with increased opioid use through the pandemic was a trend across the western world. It being treated as an epidemic across all levels of government and using the same levers we would for a virus is also something that we saw in many jurisdictions.
We’ve seen a decline of about 18% in Canada and the same in Ontario since the peak in 2021. Are you going to credit Trudeau, Carney, and Ford for that?

I work in a field adjacent to heath care and EMS. The gains made here have largely been due to increased circulation of naloxone through pharmacies along with awareness and training campaigns. Plus regional task forces proactively monitoring the drug supply for fentanyl spiking.

But sure, let’s make it about fewer browns getting through the border. 🙄
Love the posts quoted above.

Yet they will still argue and argue and argue, chasing their tail as if they know what they are talking about, all to defend their messiah.

Yeah to be honest I made a conscious decision years ago to no longer visit or comment in this section.

For one, I started feeling silly getting into debates here considering the audience and purpose of the board.

For another, as they’ve doubled down on the cult, I realize it’s futile. I’ve got better things to do than be gaslit with dubious circular arguments to score points for a pedo.

But the title caught my eye and the argument so ill-informed, and I took the bait. Shame on me. I’m a bit dumber today for it.

I get where you’re coming from and that reaction is understandable. A lot of people have checked out for the same reasons or just put the rage baiters on ignore.

That said, I actually think it’s more important now than ever to keep presenting facts and reality to the cult, even when it feels pointless. You never know what actually lands. Most of the time, you’re not arguing to convince the loudest, most entrenched person; you’re putting a counterweight out there for the quieter readers who haven’t fully surrendered their critical thinking yet.

Sure, nine times out of ten it’s gaslighting, circular logic, and bad-faith point-scoring. But every once in a while, something sticks. Maybe it plants doubt. Maybe it nags at them later. Perhaps that magical yarn worm finally slips out of their ear, stops them from chasing their tail for just a second, and they have a moment of clarity. You won’t see it happen in real time, and they’ll never admit it but hey, you never know.

Drug overdoses down 30%
Drug overdoses may be down because people are spending less on drugs. Not all drug users are street junkies, the vast majority are working lower class. The same reason why people are spending less on furniture, cars, restaurants. The pandemic lock downs caused many people to quit smoking, drinking and taking drugs. All businesses are down because the economy is not doing well and we may be headed for even harder times.

Call this the Trump effect.
Except for 5 States all US States saw overdoses plummet.
Former NYPD sergeant says securing borders had 'a lot to do with the drop.

Read and weep, Lefties :D

You posted a chart that shows that Biden's policies brought overdoses down.
The changes happened before trump was elected.
