today i went in to do a knowledge test to get the G1 because my previous one expired. i could not do it because i didn't bring my passport or citizenship card, i did not remember those 5 years ago when i got my G1 and why should i do a test to renew the G1? and i find this learning to drive thing a total scam. i did a driving test which i did not pass and i had to pay the instructor $90. after i spend $150 on driving lessons before i did the driving test i am thinking of abandoned this "getting a drivers licence" mission

No, don't let them get to you, put up with the BS and get your drivers license, if you fail again ask why...Getting a drivers license is a pain now but it won't get any easier...once you get it thou, I believe as long as you keep renewing it every few years, they can't take it away unless you start getting to many traffic tickets.

Driving does cost money but its "worth it"...I have a motorcycle license on mine--haven't drove a bike in like 2 years but I keep paying the few extra dollars to keep it on, today its a real pain to get a cycle license...25 years ago I just had to drive the bike slow in a parking lot for 2 mins, lol.

You don't renew the G1; you start all over again. That's why you had to prove who you are—passport and such—and take the knowledge test again.

If all you had to do was renew the G1, time after time, we'd soon have people with licenses who last looked at the traffic laws years and years and years ago. That privilege is reserved for those who have passed the road test.

Practise harder for yours this time. Good luck
