My favorite SP that I was planning on seeing died in a car accident. She was late 20s. No drinking, drugs or cellphone while driving involved. What a shocker.

Oh yeah and I'm going to avoid Gardiner Expressway as much as I can. It doesn't seem safe.

Sounds like speed played a factor in the accident.

Tragic indeed.

I've seen cases where trucks or normal cars were driving normal speeds but their brakes failed and killed passengers in vehicles in front of them. There was a big case in Colorado. Trucker was charged criminally for not servicing brakes on time.

Either way I'm avoiding Gardiner Expressway, DT to Islington wesbound moving forward. Islington to DT stretch on Gardiner always seemed like a sketchy hell to me.

Oh man I remember watching a video on youtube, where the tire came off a vehicle in the opposite lane on the 401, and it slammed right into the windshield of a car (that had a video camera on its dash), in the other lane. It ended up killing the passenger or something if I remember right. Such a freak accident.

Shit happens. If you are worried about driving on the highways then you may as well become a hermit.

RIP to this young lady who lost her life The sad truth is that fatal accidents on our highways have increased substantially since 2020. The majority of which are caused by fatigue and driver distraction.

Such is the randomness of life. Never sweat the small stuff and small people. Life is short.

I saw the dash cam video from the truck on that one, the SUV driver had to be in some kind of state of mind.
I simply put 2+2 together with the OP's info in a google search.

4 AM was the clincher that this was the crash involving the particular four wheeler.

They say the truck driver was unharmed but they mean physically. Psychologically is another story and I hope support is available to that operator.
