Prostitution Bust in Toronto
Toronto/AM640

5/13/2009

A massive prostitution investigation in Toronto has lead to a slew of arrests in the downtown core. 57 men have been arrested after a 3-day undercover operation dubbed Project Do-jo. They've all been charged and are set to appear in court next month.

This is what is posted on AM 640. Hope we did not lose a few members!

But what is LE doing about the Tamils who are violating our constitutional right of freedom of movement?

The person at 640 who misspelled 'led' as 'lead' should lose their job.

Journalism sure ain't what it used to be....

Wait till you've been called "bro" over the phone when you called into one of Canada's largest banks regarding your personal investment portfolio...it makes you think twice for any future investments.
Hahaha! Like the market's performance over the last six months wasn't enough to dissuade you?

"Bro"... Wow, where are they finding their personnel these days? Makes you weep for the future of civilization...

Anti-prostitution campaign leads to 57 arrests

Updated: Wed May. 13 2009 2:45:59 PM

ctvtoronto.ca

An anti-prostitution sting in the east end has resulted in the arrest of 57 men on charges of communicating for the purposes of prostitution.

The operation was codenamed Project DOJO, Toronto police said Wednesday in a news release.

Undercover female police officers worked an area between Main Street and Victoria Park Avenue along the Danforth over the weekend.

A similar operation last fall netted 21 arrests.

Those charged in the current operation are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

True, and these protests have caused the taxpayers over a million dollars in policing costs. Those bills should be paid by the Tamil organizations that have sponsored this mess.

Yes, haven't LE better things to do than bust a few hookers and johns. In most cities, the Tamils would have been dispersed with water cannons by now and their leaders arrested. But not in Toronto the good.

So it was strictly SW then? Who's dumb enough to go that route these days?

Certainly not any Terbies....
Isn't that the Truth. With so many other ways of doing things, picking up SW doesn't make sense.

I drove round the Jarvis / Church stroll a while back and didn't see a single girl.

Used to be that in the summer, your head practically twisted off its shoulders. Nice street scape if nothing else.

I agree - why bother with the SWs, however, it was nice to look at the asses in Thongs walking up and down the streets.

The Digial age has basically brought an end to the SW scene.

This isn't downtown, it's the slumy south east end of the city. You may want to update your thread title OP.

This is scary.

Anyone has details of how LE did this? Did they post ads on CL?

And don't forget the absolutely essential "IN A PUBLIC PLACE."

Get her in your hotel room, close the door, settle the terms and no crime at all. Especially when you're signing the marriage contract and pre-nup!

I live just up from there and I can tell you from many a walk home that there's still quite a few ladies around that block. Even just walking home tonight I saw one. Internet may have made it irrelevant for many of us, but clearly some people still use it.
