Domains and Hosting HELP

Hi. My friend who owns a successful business is thinking of creating a website for the products and services he provides in North America. He's estimating that he might get approximately 2000-5000 hits per day, maybe more. He is also currently searching for a webmaster who will be responsible for maintaining his site.

Who should he sign up with, and what services should he take advantage of?

I only know of yahoo domains, as i'm with them. I think they have 3 different packages you can choose from. I dont know how it is compared to the others. Only thing i dont like right now is the 'help support'.
Recently,I aske them a problem i was having with a addon feature,which i have already added, just not displaying right., and they replied back with instruction with how to add the feature. Its like they dont read or are just lazy.

Way too vague a question. How professional does he want the site to be? will he be creating his own domain name? Will it be used for ordering/transactions? What bells and whistles, e.g. flash? How much updating will be required and how frequently?

You can see, that is not an easy question. A Yahoo site is OK for home use but would not recommend it for business. There are a number of hosting services, e.g. DependableIT. Consultants to program the site are a dime a dozen.

Well, the site would definately need to be updated on a daily basis. He will have his own domain name. Maybe some Flash, definately a site which allows users to order and make transactions. A good looking site, with the latest features, but nothing to fancy. It has to remain somewhat simple and look professional. Unfortunately, i'm not to familiar with HTML and all.

He definately needs a huge amount of bandwith. He can't afford to have people visit his site and be greeted by a message that says "bandwith exceeded".
