Seems in all the cost cutting promises by Trump and President Musk, the military seems pretty much exempt. 800 Billion budget, 800 Million in cuts. Doesn't sound that bad to have a 1% cut but compared to other government agencies, seems like nothing.
More significantly, after Musk criticizing spending money on fighters in the drone age, Trump abandons the F-35 program, only to replace it with a new plane, the F-47. And even worse, has promised essentially an unlimited budget for his "Golden Dome" dream (100 Billion annually per Bloomberg).
