Question: Does Youtube remember videos I have previously seen so I don't unintentionally watch the same video again?

Thanks. I guess there are pros and cons to be remembered but it got to the pint where I would open a video only to vaguely remember I have seen it before like maybe a year ago.

Another question: How long does Youtube keep its videos on the shelf before they are retired to archive?

They aren't. The first youtube video made is still accessible.

Other than tracking your views, does Youtube membership confer any other benefits? For the life of me, I can't remember why I joined.

I think it lets you watch age restricted videos. You can also save videos you like into playlists if you don't want to use bookmarks.
