Does anyone remember this show?

I tried doing google searchs, typing key words at youtube and wikipedia and I can't seem to find any info of this show. Here are the basics:

- live action show in the late 80's
- main character (extremly strong) was an alien in human form from another planet or dimension, and was a "fish out of water" character
- the actor was muscular
- he had a sidekick (computer animated) that only he could see (no, it's not the Great Gazoo), resembled a floating eyeball.

I only remember one scene from the show. He gets falsly put into jail. He asks his sidekick where he is and is informed that he's in jail. That a jail is a place for the guilty. So knowing that he, himself, is innocent, he reasons that he's should not be there. So he bends the bars apart and walks out, bending the bars back behind him so that the other prisioners wouldn't escape.

the reason i need to know is that I want to find clips of this show and re-live my youth.

I've watched a lot of TV in my time and that show does not sound familiar at all.....

It actually sounds like you combined four or five different shows into one....

How long did it last?

Anybody famous in it?

Wasn't the guy who played Bobby Ewing on Dallas in some sort of a si-fi show. Like an AquaMan kind of theme?

the show "Was Man From Atlantis" Patrick Duffy starred in that before landing the role in Dallas.

From the description this might not be the show the OP was referring to/
