Yes. Several well established and reputable SP's advertise on it, and it is my understanding that it is run by women, some of whom are in the industry. (I believe its based in Australia where laws are much more progressive and sex work friendly) I've also been told by a well established SP who uses it that they screen the SP advertisers, as opposed to a platform like LL which is a cesspool of scams imho.
Nothing is a guarantee however, so once you find someone you're interested in seeing use an SP's twitter to find more about them, as well of their own website if available. And of course make use of TERB to look for information.

I noticed that most independent SPs who are Terb's regulars advertise there as well. You can search globally, any country, any city.
There are hundreds of SPs to choose from and they look legit.
Unlike LL, those on Tryst are verified.
I'm not sure about client verification process though. Not a fan of providing references or sensitive information.
Also, can't find any reviews on some of the ladies on Terb or elsewhere.

I think I like this. IF this true about screening SP, then I can view prices world wide and what the women look like.
For example take this woman British in Tokyo, Chef by day and by night Lady of the hour. IF true.
And yes your radar has to be on high alert.

I'm not an expert or anything, but I would like to share my piece. I feel more comfortable with Tryst than Leolist. Many of the women in Tryst are also active here on Terb, and many have huge twitter following. I've had great experiences with women from there so far. I agree that the client verification process can be daunting, therefore I recommend that you go for the ones that are well-known and have big twitter following. Check their website, how they interact in twitter and what their bio looks like. If all seems professional, you can go forward with screening. I've had dodgy experiences in LL, but never from the Tryst ones (till now) at least. Also the reason why you won't find many reviews of them on TERB and I didn't post a review is because a lot of them have no review policy.
Tryst is great not only for clients, but for ladies also. The web team is always professional.

You're right, a big twitter following is not necessarily an indicator of professionalism. How the person's interaction is with their followers need to be taken into account as well.
I was simply blown away by variety.

Was hoping to hear from the gang that Yes, website is legit, all had fun, go for it.
Price wise it's on the elite side, so be prepared to pay for that fun.
