Does anyone have any safety tips for going on weekend date?

I've read about safety tips for hobbyists, but not really from an SP's perspective. I'm going on my first full weekend date and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me? I've been on a few overnights, but never a full weekend and never so far away from where I live.

Leave an itinerary and contact details with a trusted friend.

Check in with that person at designated intervals.

Have an exit plan, including how to get home if stranded.

Will you be staying at a hotel or private residence?

Well, the guy lead me on until about an hour before he was supposed to drop off the deposit and I haven't heard from him since. He is definitely the true definition of a time waster. But at least it got me thinking about what I should do for next time. I have a few plans in place to protect myself if there is ever a next time. I like the idea of installing Prey. I had life 360, but it wasn't really what I was looking for.

I really didn't want to go anyway. lol

I'd add to this....let the date know you have a friend you have to check up with on a regular basis and to whom you have to give hotel info, including room number as the date goes along. If the date is legit, he won't mind and will understand. If he shows any signs of being against that plan, dump him.

Hide some money or Credit Card somewhere other than your purse for a fast exit if needed...if he's trouble, your purse is the first thing he'll take.

Don't do it with a stranger. This should only be done with regular clients you know and trust.
