After all these years nobody has ever found a skeleton hanging from a parachute...

I’ve followed this story for years, read a book and watched several shows on it...there is nothing clear on what happened, a 100% true mystery.

... and the parachute
Also, one of the two parachutes that he used was a training parachute that was sewed shut and was accidentally given to him. If he tried to open that one, there would not be much of his remains, and the parachute on the ground to be found.

I am just playing devil's advocate here. There is strong evidence pointing both to his survival and his death. For example, there is strong evidence that the money found near the Columbia was planted.

This was the first criminal plane hijacking in history, so the LE had no experience in these matters. Previous hijackings were to flee countries with dictatorial governments. I think D.B Cooper had help from a crew member that hid the money on the plane.
He ordered the rear boarding ramp down and went to the back of the plane and put on a stewardesses uniform and got off with everyone else when the plane landed.

I think it more likely that he survived the fall than not.

Otherwise some (greater than just one wad of money) trace of him would have been strewn around over a wide swath of land, SOME of which would have been found by now (beyond the one small wad of $$$).

Although one possible wild card is that he was dead on impact, and whatever remains and effects there were of him, could have been completely vaporized by the volcano 8.5 years later.
