Do you have less respect for porn dealers, SPs, masseuses, SWS, strippers.

If you were to meet someone in the adult entertainment business in your regular life, would you have less respect for them. I know a ex-strip club dancer, I do not respect her less because she danced nude, I respect her less because her place looks like a pig stye, she spends money that she does not have, and looks to other people to bail her out.

If you knew a person that had an internet porn site, SP, masseuse, or SW, would you respect them less?

I've never met a "perfect" person in my life, regardless of their "job". My respect for someone rarely (except hard drug dealers, thieves, pimps of underage girls, and general scumbags, etc) depends on their job.

It's about their attitude towards their family, their dealings with other people and the way they treat their fellow humans and living creatures sharing this earth.

What they do for a living rarely (except hard drug dealers, thieves, pimps of underage girls, and general scumbags, etc ) enters the equation, everyone has to support themselves and their families

I don't have less respect for the adult industry and those who work within it, but I do have less respect for people who have little work ethic and are simply looking for an easy way to make money. And I find there's a lot of lazy people in the adult entertainment biz.

I have no respect for people who live off the backs of others, e.g., pimps, agents, etc.

Generally I have the least respect for idiots, liars, cheat and thieves, in short, politicians.

I have have the next least respect for partisan hacks of all stripes.

After that, everyone one is judged on their own merits, but the starting point is that they are all merely human worth little or nothing at best.

Ah... Fuck the goddamned humans! KILL THEM ALL!!!!

Even as you imply above, it has more to do with them and their behaviour as well as what it is that they are doing, than is does about the label SP or Dancer.

Yep.

In fact I may have MORE respect for them. Its not an easy job or one many gals can do well at--even if they really want to.

At least they need not to get drunk to have an excuse to act sexy / make out.

I don't pass judgement on any adult in this industry on face value. I need to get to know the person more before concluded respect or not. I've met many respectful people in this industry, both men and women, but reserved judgement until I got to know them well and glad I did, some are good friends now.

Who's actually going to come up and say that they have a problem with them?
Maybe to make it a more interesting question, would you have a problem if your SO wanted to get into the adult industry as a stripper, MPA or SP?

Good point. I'll take it further. What if your sister/daughter/mother (a bit a of stretch unless you have a true MILF) wanted to get into the adult entertainment industry? LOL

Or, if you were dating a current or former stripper/mpa/sp, would you tell your friends and family about her past?

I've talked with two strippers who both have saved enough money to buy their own places, on their own and generally seem to have their shit together. I respect them, but certainly not all I've met in clubs.

I think you mean to ask if people in the sex industry should be judged on what they do for a living. I think it's obvious every profession has good and bad people in it. To answer your point, no I don't think we should think less or more about someone just because of what they do for a living.

I'd freak and I tried to rationally and calmy explain to them why it would not be a good idea.

No.

No. But other people might not respect them. And that might impact what sort of relationship I would be willing to have. I would have to be pretty deeply in love to go through the crap I'd get for dating a sex worker.

I'm friends with several people who work in the sex trade. I've dated, and would do so again, people in the sex trade. I have the utmost respect for the ladies in their chosen profession because, as lucrative as it is, it's not easy work. It takes a resilience of spirit that I find pretty damn attractive.

Would I announce to everyone that I am dating an escort/stripper/MPA? No. Not from any sense of shame, but because these jobs are not readily accepted by people outside our little community. Personally, I think it's too bad, because the fact that it has always existed and that it's thriving shows that it's an inherent part of the human condition.

Dating is one thing but what if it got serious? Would you tell your family/close friends about her sex job? Would you ask her to stop what she's doing before it could get serious? I couldn't get serious with anybody in the sex industry (i.e. strippers, MPA, SP). I'd be too jealous.

That's what all guys say. But if you were a girl, you might think differently.
Right now, could you be a male SP for old, fat and/or ugly women? Gay for pay?
I don't think I could do it.
