PS: I'm not trying to offend anyone; I'm only asking since you guys give very insightful answers.
I talked online with some escorts(based in UK/Canada); however, it seems their life is somewhat more accessible than other sex workers. For instance, I've observed that they tend to have their website, handpick their clients, and charge higher fees(I've even heard $1000, depending on the country). There's even the added element of privacy. Some of them have their face blurred out. Hence they can get involved in that world and then bounce later on. I heard of a woman who ends up finishing her master's degree after escorting. Nobody knew who she was. Hence she continued with her life.
Hence, I'm surprised that in America, pornography is legal, but escorting falls in a grey area. Or even mongering going to the provides house is illegal and highly stigmatized.
In contrast, pornography seems like a very harsh industry to get involved with. I'm not talking about things like Onlyfans or uploading a couple of videos. I'm talking about being part of the industry.
From what I'm hearing, the pay is low($800 under), the demands are high(it seems that rough sex is the norm), often, the norm is not to use condoms. Hence it seems stressful to get constantly tested. I don't want to demonize the industry, but I heard there's a lot of alcohol/drug abuse going. Even if you get out of pornography widely available, it leaves you with a "stigma" that you'll have to carry. Not only might your family will judge you, but there's a lot of weirdos online who are harassing porn stars online. I was reading, and hence people who get involved in the world seem to fare worst down the line.
Again, I don't want to be judgemental or discourage anyone from pursuing a porn career. However, now that i studied pornography closely, I think it should not be taken lightly as some people take it.
