Digital pictures

I've been trying to copy pictures from my camera on to a CDR so that I can play it on my DVD machine, but when I copied all the pictures on to the disc, my DVD player only plays the first 8 pictures, after that it just returns to the main menu. What is the correct procedure to copy pictures on to a disc so that you can watch your pictures on your TV ?

use Nero to make a DVD (slide show or DVD, not a data DVD)

what if you don't have a dvd burner ? is it possible to do it on a CDR ?

Did you just create a data CD or a VCD / SVCD?

use Nero to make a vcd or svcd photo slide show on a CDR.
