Women in the sex trade, what term do you prefer to call yourselves professionally?
Which are offensive to you in any situation?
Which do you like when simply having fun amongst yourselves?
How about guys, which do you prefer for them?

Escort, service provider, ho, courtesan, hooker, lady of the evening, harlot, sex worker, whore, streetwalker, prostitute, slut, callgirl - there are many which convey different images, feel free to add your own.

It's been good to know ya
In my opinion I prefer sp in any e mails that I get. I wish to know that the man I am about to see is still respectful. But in the bedroom he can call me what he wants as long as I am aware that this is what he wishes and it is all in good fun.

Please note: Goobers mother no longer charges for her services. Calling her an sp is incorrect.

so what you are telling us is that she is just a slut now!

sluts don't pay. Maybe if she had some work done she could become a slut.

A man who pays is a John.

An unknown man is a John Doe.

An unknown woman is a Jane Doe.

If Goober's mom pays, does that make her a Jane?

Hookers and Prostitutes are the ones that walk the streets. These are the women that provide sexual services for money and in turn give that money to a pimp for whatever reason they choose fit. Usually deriving from drug addiction, money loans, gambling debts, etc.

Escorts/call girls, on the other hand, are ones who do this for a source of income on their own will. Call girls/escorts are of a different breed then those that walk the streets. Most escorts/call girls provide services that hookers/prostitutes don't offer. For example, when one calls an escort, they are paying to expect company. If sexual activity occurs then that is at the discretion of the two parties. However, when one solicits a hooker off the street there is only one thing in mind - SEX. You don't pick up a street walker to talk to her and exchange masssages and interesting conversations, so to speak. I think that there is a difference in these types of SP's.

that's a huge generalization
a lot of street walkers are completely independent, and even have day jobs

Another one, simply "pro".

I like when women are able to have fun with terms like these, they can reclaim words that are often offensive and empower themselves if they choose.
"Whore" is a good honest word, it's all about the way it's phrased. The words dear, caress, cherish, and charity are derived from the same root.
"Service Provider" or "escort" are deliberately vague and kind of dishonest but also give a needed dignity or respect.

Then why not be an escort or conduct business in closed quarters rather then parading the streets? Isn't this much more illegal? If they have day jobs, or are independent then why not practice actual business policy like all the other agencies or independent SP's?

Between a rock and a hard place
I remember one on Oprah that preferred to be called a "sexual surrogate".
I prefer to call them all "darling"

There's definitely a difference in class and methodology between SP and SW. But does anyone hire an SP and NOT want anything sexual?
