I am at the grocery store fondling the cucumbers,,,,,I mean, checking for freshness when this very attractive, young man comes over to me and says, "Excuse me Miss, how do you tell if these melons are fresh?" He is holding two large honeydew melons in his hands.
My immediate response is to burst out laughing, check the aisles for hidden cameras and to look for his buddies who probably issued a dare. What do you think? Did I handle this right? Or did I just blow my chances? ​

you should have grabbed his hands and put them on your breasts and said "if they feel like this they are fresh"

You should have told him you'd comment on his melons if he'd comment on the cucumber you were holding.

The melons are large, round, and should be heavy for their size. The melon should not be soft or scarred in any areas and should be somewhat fragrant. Harvest when the blossom end softens and the stem end is slightly springy and the skin begins to take on a creamy yellow/cream appearance. Pale yellow with bright lemon-colored areas suggests it matured on the vine.
