watching the florida / toronto game and there are people in the ACC stands wearing the Leafs blue and white cheering when Florida scores each of there many goals.

well, i guess it's better than booing your home team.

....after the game was out of reach..after the 4-0 goal I think...and it was well deserved...these are supposed to be pros??....in your own building, you fail to come out with any passion or sense of urgency...we've been listening to the Hal Gills of the world telling us not to boo...screw that jerk..this team should be booed, have the fans cheer when the other team scores...this team deserves any and all the grief it gets..

..and Maurice was asked about the cheering of Fla. goals...he got the message, cause he said it was worse than being booed...hopefully some of those ungrateful, sad sack excuse for hockey players that he coaches get the message too...I couldn't give a flying shit as a Leaf fan if this team makes the playoffs...but for crying out loud ..COMPETE !!...otherwise, do us all a favour ... hang up the jersey...and let the team bring up some guys that wanna play..hell...bring up the whole Marlies team if that's what it takes...

This team played tonight like it couldn't have given a rats ass...well I hope the trade deadline brings a fire sale...

I heard there was some sports writer in TO that was lamenting the loss of MCCabe..and blaming the slide of this team on that??...musta been a bad joke, cause this team has sucked shit all season..and certainly did the same with McPuke in the line up...

Hopefully Fletcher sees this team for what it is...talent that has been way over rated by those in charge...from Wellwood to Poni...to Karberle, Kubina..White..there are a lot of Leafs that couldn't make 3rd lines on most NHL squads..and the way the D plays..a lot of them are 6th or 7th defensemen..

Time for a complete blow up..long overdue..and I hope that old goat Fletcher has the balls to do it..

OK....I think that's enough venting..

they cheered Raycroft's first save, also.

and to boot... there were EMPTY SEATS at the ACC tonight! Unbelievable. though official attendance count was 19,430, it was reported in the 3rd period that only 15,860 tickets scanned in at the gate.

welcome to a toronto maple leafs new GM honeymoon

I was there, my buddy and I high fived and cheered the last 3 Florida goals. We actually had quite a bit of fun. Guy behind us was yelling "C'mon Raycroft, you have another one in you" "Thats 6, lets see 7"...this guy had a real foghorn voice, they had to hear him on the ice......

Why are you people so surprised that the Leafs are a bad team? They have a second string and a fourth string goalie (together earning $ 6 mil), they have a bunch of very tall, immobile pylons on defence, their coach can't seem to get anything out of whatever talent there is.

On the bright side, Side Show Bob made a appearance last night. That should keep the denizens of the ACC happy for a while.

Golf! Leafs! Golf!

That's still way too many.

What was remarkable about tuesdays game was that blowout score was not the real story. That game could have ended 0-0 with the Leafs winning in the shootout and it still would have been the same debacle of ineptitude shift after shift.

For example: In the 2nd period, I don't think they had a single incident of a successful defensive dispossesion - except maybe when guy #54 poke-checked his teammate starting out of his own zone... In the first 10 minutes of the 3rd, FIVE times a pass to a pointman on the blueline missed and left the zone ..

And this was all being done to them by a bellow average team - Florida maybe made 6 good plays in the entire game - it's not like the Leafs were caught cold by a great team firing on all cylinders.

Larry Tanenbaum was asked, what are the objectives for the Maple Leafs going forward? He answered with an incomplete sentence; our objective is to win. He left out the part about making the playoffs so that the Board can justify raising ticket prices.

It's now been over forty years but I still hope that someday this charade is going to end.
