LOL. Why don't they worry about their gang related violence before they worry about consenting adults having a bit of fun.

Do they really think that we little Canadians could tarnish the image of their city any worse than they have already done? Get serious...

Yes, and I think the stories printed in the US media were meant to be complimentary. I don't know about the TV news story, but I don't think the newspaper stories were suggesting the idea of it tarnishing the image of the Super Bowl or Detroit.

What has made it a story in Canada is the reaction of the mayor of Windsor, who didn't like the "sin city" label.

Windsor
The mayor of Windsor is a twenty-nine-year old guy of Arab descent who used to run a small bakery. His opinion is not earth-shattering and he has limited world experience, so I cannot understand why anyone would take him seriously.

I noticed in my jaunts around town that a few more Oriental massage joints have opened up and there are a lot more dancers at Studio 4, Silvers and the other stripjoints in town. Only Jason's hasn't seen a large influx of new babes.

However, if the past Detroit events are any indication, the Super Bowl guys usually travel in large packs, patronize the upscale joints like Jason's, Million Dollar and Cheetah's, smoke a Cuban (egad $75?), blow a few chips at the Casino tables, drink a lot and then go home to their wives. Large pack guys don't seem to patronize the unseemly due to their perceived high-falutin' station in life.

If young guys come to town, even though they don't have as much dough, they will gravitate to T-Zers, Studio 4 or Silvers for grotier grope dances and may even venture into a massage parlour to make snide remarks at the staff like, "Man, I'm too cool to pay for it, ha,ha," and leave.

It's the perv like us who travels alone, takes in a strip show, gambles alone and has few or no compunctions in calling an escort to the hotel room or actually patronizing a massage parlour.

I hope a lot of pervs come to Windsor. For the parlours and SPs, the tourists are a waste of time. Lots of questions, phone calls, but no action.

This story runs in the Detroit papers every couple of years or so. It's nothing new, but I do like to watch the scantily clad nineteen year-old nubile American girls jiggling around town on weekends. They never wear coats even when the weather is below freezing. It makes their nipples erect.

There can't be too many cities in Ontario with tamer dances than Windsor, in my experience. It is ironic that Americans consider it sin city, they couldn't handle Niagara Falls.

How does a place that plans to host NFL players and their supporters figure ANYTHING could further tarnish their image?

Besides, we could say the same thing about all their guns that end up over here. Oh, I forgot, shooting galleries are integral to freedom! Only massage parlors are damaging!

With regards to Detroit, two words.....

Devil's Night. Isn't that city famous for the DN fires that are set every year, or have they fixed that problem?

I don't know what things are like these days, but many years ago, when I worked in the US, anytime the SuperBowl came to town, you had to watch your ass for getting busted. This was because they brought in their own people and/or required locals to pay a premium for the privilege of working in their own market when the SuperBowl was there. It was a racket -- what's new?

Perhaps Canada's laws and Windsor's licencing system throws a fly into their lucrative ointment?
