It’s reported that he was a Toronto RAF officer and not RCAF (I seem to recall reading that at one point 1/4 of the RAF aircrews were made up of Canadians). Regardless, it was disgusting. I am just wondering. In the scheme of things which do people think is worse. Burning a book (the Koran) or desecrating a grave. I know what I think and to me it is no contest.
The problem is that you have it backwards. The Koran burning was stupid - very stupid, but acidental, the cemetary desecration deliberate.Difference is between a baby shitting in a diaper in your home, and an adult dropping trou and doing the same on your front doorstep.
You're right there. There is a big difference between an unfortunate accident vs premeditated acts of disrespect.I'm not going to be popular with this but in my opinion burning a religious* book is a deliberate and clear incitement to retailiatory violence
The sad thing is those ungrateful Libyans that desecrated the tombstones didn't even think about how Canadians who risked their lives, not too long ago, from the Gadhafi oppressive regime. How quickly we forget.
