Never tried them, is this like acid?

Psychedelic mushrooms might be decriminalized in Denver, Colorado this May after a group gathered nearly double the number of signatures needed for such a measure to appear on the ballot.
Organizers with Decriminalize Denver, the group behind the initiative, submitted more than 8,000 signatures to the Denver Elections Division in favor of the push, Fox affiliate KDVR reported. Only 4,726 valid signatures are required for the measure to be placed on the ballot.

The measure would make the personal use and possession of psilocybin mushrooms by those 21 years of age or older Denver's "lowest law-enforcement priority, " according to the measure's language. It would also "prohibit the city from spending resources to impose criminal penalties" against those who use and possess it.
Additionally, the measure would create a review panel to "assess and report on the effects of the ordinance" decriminalizing psilocybin.

Psilocybin — a "hallucinogenic chemical obtained from certain types of fresh and dried mushrooms" — is illegal in the U.S. and is categorized by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) under "Schedule I," along with drugs like heroin, marijuana and LSD.
The government, which controlled the use of mushrooms in the 1970s, states that Schedule I drugs have "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse."

The push to decriminalize the magic mushrooms in Denver follows a similar initiative in Oregon, where the state attorney general approved language for a ballot measure to make them legal. A similar effort to legalize psilocybin recently failed in California.

Sounds like it would still be illegal, the city would not enforce the law but the feds will have something to say about it.

Did you know it is legal in Canada? There is a christian church in Montreal that uses it for religious purposes and under the freedom of religion philosophy it is allowed.

It is also legal in some American churches.

Mushrooms are nice and they expand your brain and form new connections.

LSD and DMT Caused the Brain to Form New Connections in Flies and Rats

The research team administered DMT, psilocin (one of the psychoactive compounds in magic mushrooms), MDMA, and LSD to flies and rats, and found that they all promoted neurite growth. According to the researchers, however, LSD was especially effective compared to the other substances. Surprisingly, the psychedelic ibogaine, which is gaining currency as an addiction treatment, was “the only psychedelic tested that had absolutely no effect.”

I haven't had shhhroms since I was in my 20's. I remember watching The Who's, The Kids Are Alright at the Kingsway Theater before they turned into an outhouse...er...arthouse. A night I'll never forget.

Probably a big difference between getting 6 thousand signatures and actually having this pass as a ballot proposition
