Dental Dams for DATY

Hi,

Im tempted to do DATY but scared of the risk of STI.
Is it common to ask SP to provide dental dams or if I carry my own to ask SP if I can use them?
Does anyone have any experience with this.

In my experience it's not common for SPs to have dental dams. Or at least they've been offered to me exactly zero times. Unlike condoms, I suspect most SPs would be fine if you brought your own, as it:s an additional bit if safety that wouldn't otherwise be there.

I can speak for any, or all, providers but I can't see one saying no / being offended as it's an additional bit of protection that wouldn't otherwise be there (if you BYO).

She won't be offended, but don't expect her to get much pleasure out of it.

Probably even worse than condoms are for guys as far as dulling the sensations...

Hypothetically speaking of course, and if you were capable of having orgasms several times a day, as many women are, and if you had sex with six ladies on a single day with a condom, and then at the end of the long day you had sex with one without a condom, don't you think that last one might feel a whole lot better?

None of us are providers, but I think it's a case of most providers being happy enough to feel pleasure, willing enough to accept feeling nothing at all (or just a little good to somewhat bad), and really wanting to avoid things that will physically hurt or irritate them. It's a job. It's nice when things are good, but as long as things aren't 'that bad' then a provider will usually keep her game face on.

You just cannot be too careful . After 100's of DATY events over 15 years maybe my luck of not catching something [ while courageously not using a dental dam ] will probably run out some day. And doing maybe even riskier DFK only one minor sniffle probably caught from a provider in 15 years.

When I see a flash of lightning 15 miles away I hide under my bed just in case.

Many years ago I asked a few SPs I'd seen a few times if they'd be ok to trying a dental dam. All said "sure, why not". And all of them, in their own way said "so that's what you guys feel like when getting a CBJ" followed by "get rid of that thing, I want to feel you what you're doing". And that was the end of my experiment with dental dams.

Dental dams are not fully protective against HPV transmission and take away most if not all of the DATY experience anyway.

Use an unlubricated condom if that bothers you. Tons of SPs give covered BJs. Often using lubricated condoms as well.
