Democrats zero for 40 on Iraq

Since taking the majority, they have forced 40 votes on bills limiting President Bush’s war policy.

Not a single one has passed both chambers, even though both are run by Democrats.

Indeed, the only war legislation passed during this Congress has been to give the president exactly what he wants, and exactly what he has had for the past five years: more money, with no limitations

Disapproval of the Democratic majority in Congress has risen steadily, albeit with no corresponding increase in enthusiasm for Republicans.

I'm not surprised the American people would be disillusioned in the knowledge 2 out 3 branches of their government are inept.

Yet, strangely enough, you seem to find comfort in this.

While my ideology alligns much more with the Republican party my interests are very selfish.
Most politicians are lazy, inept and don't care about the money their spend. It makes me sick having to work my ass off only to see 30% of my pretax money and 20% of my after tax money dissapear in a black hole called the goverment....and when it comes to that I am color blind....

Like most Americans I was for the war in Iraq and although now I question the value of it I would never support a candidate that would do anything to endanger our troops.
This includes: stupid political missions, cutting funding and discrediting them.
For whatever went right or wrong in Iraq our troops should not pay the price for (maybe) lying, cheating and backstabbing politicians...period.

Do poltiticians use our troops for their own games...this is about as old as warfare itself. It is ok as long as soldiers are not being hurt needlessly.

think the lack of progress on major issues is solely
the fault of one political party, do you OTB?

It takes the ineptitude of both political parties to
screw this situation up as badly as it is.

You'd think they would be smart enough to count votes (at least one of the 40 times) and not set themselves up to look completely incompetent and tone deaf..... Again, they are stuck trying to pander to the crazy part of the party while appearing reasonable to the rest of us, I'd say they're failing on both counts.
