Does anyone know how to de-ice a car window? Early morning this has happen for five years now my car windows is covered in ice or a bit of frost. Is there a way to remove it quickly or some applicator that won't let the window frost at all or freeze up?
Also is there a way to keep the windows from fogging up constantly? I know this is happen in rainy days but sometimes it won't go away with heat or air.

I use Prestone De-Icer, which you can get at Wal-Mart, auto stores, etc.

Short of keeping your car in a heated garage, I know of no way to prevent this.

As for fogging up windows, doesn't your car have a windshield defroster setting on the heat/AC? Open up the window a little bit, that helps too.

I set my heater on heat/defrost, high fan, hottest temperature. 10 minutes before I am ready to leave I hit the remote starter, and the windshield is clear inside and out when I get to the car. If it was outside in a really heavy snow, there will be snow, but it comes off easily because it is melted underneath. I have heard of windshields cracking from this, but I have never had that problem.

In many (most?) cars, the AC compressor runs when the heater is in defrost mode, which takes the fog away quickly.

IF your windows are fogging up it means the humidity in your car is too high. In order to dry it out you need to have the a/c running when defogging the windows since it helps to dry the air.
Yes, the joy of having carpet in the car. It can hold a lot of moisture, then constantly recycles as fog and frost on the inside of windows. Leave your window open a crack while driving with the floor heat on. Make sure your getting fresh air, not recycled air(vent setting switch). The pink fog stick works on mirrors, but not sure how effective it would be for windows in the winter.

Park in a sheltered area like carport or under an evergreen tree to eliminate external frost, or the windshield covers that were mentioned.
