Dear Hockey fans

Let me be the first American to say sorry for screwing up your wonderful sport. I knew from the beginning that if the US sports people got involved, it would only be a matter of time before things were totally f'd up. I am not an avid hockey fan, but I enjoy watching an occasional game. We have an AHL team in my town I attend frequently. When I saw them closing and moving small market teams in Canada for Florida, Arizona, Texas, Nashville, and California, I knew it would only be a matter of time before it was business first, sport a far distant second. Next time you create something great, do yourselves a favor, don't tell us. Then they steal the Expos and they'll probably go after the Jays next. Keep the secret formula for Molson and Labatt's safe. You never know what these greedy bastards will be after next. If it's any consolation, the way the NBA is going, it will be next. As it is becoming more of a world sport, and the world is getting better at it, maybe someone will screw us back.

To my American friend, hockey isn't dead or screwed up, it is the NHL that is screwed up and starting to fade. Junior hockey is doing just fine up here, and it is getting me through not watching the Leaf's on Saturday night. What I miss is my Don Cherry Fix!!!!!

You still have curling - I'm pretty sure we won't be importing that anytime soon.

At least with the NHL lockout the Leaf fans can still say this late in the year that they are in the running for the Cup!
