Great victory by Canada over the top ranked Spanish team and reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in our history.
No matter what way you spin it, Canada deserves all the accolades for this victory. People saying the Spain did not bring their best team, who cares, you play who is in front of you, not against who is better on paper. Spain may have taken us a bit to lightly and it cost them. Yes, Milos is expected to win both his matches but everyone thought that Spain would win 3-2. With the Spainish doubles team being ranked 2nd in the world expecting to win and then our other singles player Frank being ranked in the 166 area, you would expect Spain with two guys in the top 100 to win both of their matches.
Team Canada did what they had to do and moves on to the quarters vs Italy who upset Crotia. Another oppurtunity to play at home in May and possibly make it to the semis.
