That is sad. I remember watching him all the time when he was on TV back in the day.

Veteran Cdn. journalist Bill Cameron dead at 62

Veteran Canadian journalist Bill Cameron, whose illustrious career spanned many decades in print, on television and radio, has died of cancer. He was 62.

Men all die in three's , I predict the pope is next .

I remember watching him on TV when I was a teenager. He was irreverant and damned funny. Dave, may your God go with you.

Saw his "At Large" TV show in reruns when it was a few years old - liked the catholic church jokes and skits, then saw him in person at the O'Keefe Centre sometime during 1980s. His hair had turned completely gray by then. I would've guessed he was older than 68.

Who is next, John Cleese?

I won't miss Dave Allen. I never liked his show.

While he wasn't one of my favourites, I did watch Dave Allen on occasion. I am, however, shocked to learn of the death of Bill Cameron at the age of 62 (I thought he was younger). I clearly remember him paired with Gord Martineau on CITY Pulse news way back and always wondered why Gord was kept and Bill was sent packing. Bill was also a solid personality on the CBC for years. The death of Bill Cameron represents a tragic loss for Canadian journalism.

I used to watch Dave Allen At Large too when it was on. He was a good comedian.

Fond memories of Allen At Large, I can't believe there is never any re-runs shown in the wee hours on Comedy or Bravo. I'm sure I would enjoy it more now that I'm older.

Certain peoples deaths just touch ya in a certain way, that make you stop and think. For me there's a certain nostalgia attached to the Dave Allen show as well as this news being an indicator of how much time has gone by when I wasn't looking.

he joked about it at the beginning of his monologue all the time

sitting on his stool, before he opened his mouth ... he was pretending to pick his nose with his imaginary finger-tip.
