after logging into a club website, my browser had a popup message stating that my login info was involved in a data breach. not sure my user name and password can do much except for make fake bookings, but be vigilant

Could be a scam. Do they have a link where they will fix you up for a price? A kind of blackmail...

Sometimes those website just have a generic pop-up message telling anybody and everybody their info has been breached. The goal is to get you to click on their link… so they can actually get to your data… and bank account

With a Windows computer, it's a good idea to pin the Task Manager to the Task Bar. If you ever get a popup window that you can't close, just open the Task Manager and close any/all browser windows manually, then start a new browsing session.

I also manually close as many apps and processes as I can before shutting down or restarting. This saves time.
