I used to work as a volunteer race marshal at Mosport, and saw lots of crashes... but never anything like this.
I gave up following F1 after the disastrous weekend that saw the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger. The sick feeling from that weekend came back to me in an avalanche after I read the story.
My sympathies to the family and to the group of racers.

No matter how many advances they make for the sport, auto-racing will always be dangerous and a risk to anyone's life.
