Now that I've got your attention, I'm not talking about that part of my anatomy. Since I was seventeen, I've been 6'-2-1/2". For the first time in at least 10 years, I checked my height the other day and realized that I've shrunk by a friggin' inch...... Okay, okay, I'm "inching" into other side of middle age, but still feel like a 37 year old.

Does anybody know at just what age we start to shrink and is there any way to slow it down (okay, anything short of a stretching rack in the garage).
I've enjoyed my almost 6-3" presence.

For those that find the other parts of their anatomy are shrinking, think "Jelquing", a tube of baby gel and a half an hour, two to three times a week. The information on those magic pills we are get emailed with all too often don't work, but that's another subject.

Mac I wouldn't be too worried, many people shrink as they age in their 40's-50's. As long as you don't shrink in certain parts its ok. Hey you're still 6'1 1/2" got me by 4 1/2.

Gravity and slouching take away an inch or two as we age. Perhaps bungie jumping or a trip to space may reverse these effects:D

yes this is true. So what you do is lie on your back and measure yourself from head to toe. Measuring yourself that way should add about an inch compared to if you were to measure yourself standing up.

Actually, you can shrink upwards to an inch just over the course of a day. If you measured yourself first thing in the morning and then once more before laying down for bed, there would be a measurable difference in the two readings. This is due to your skeletal structure settling while erect and the various joints and discs compressing temporarily under the gravitational stress of your body.

Did you by any chance measure yourself recently at night? If so, you might not have lost as much as you think you have. ;)
