It's too late to take his name off the ballot. If he drops out the choice will be between Clinton, Stein, and Johnson.

I don't think he will drop out. He's having a bad week, he's getting killed in the polls, but there's still a long way to go before election day. He could still turn it around.

There is ONE way that Trump could drop out:

He could quit the race and publicly swear out a binding pledge not to take office. He could then campaign for Pence. If the GOP ticket wins, then as VP, Pence would become President.

Pence could also announce today who he intends to nominate as his Vice President though his choice would be subject to congressional approval after the election.
