Another year has come and gone and its time for the boys in lycra to hit the pavement. Every rider has passed the obligatory drug test that most be conducted before the tour can begin. Its nice to know that riders in this tour haven't used drugs to get to the level there at. Bwwhahaa!!!

Odds say Lance will make it 7. The fact he has already won 6 (1999-2004) after fighting cancer is really amazing.

Anyone have any predictions? --- Kev

I saw him win the Thrift Drug Triple Crown for a million dollars in Pittsburgh when he was a young pup (in cycling years) and knew he was bound to be a legend the man is a monster.

I say 7 I don't see Urlich having the strength after the crash. I thought Urlich would have won the Tour back in the Indurain days.

I'll go with Lance as well. At a minimum he's got to be the sentimental favorite.

Lance finished 2nd in the time trial today. He passed Ulrich. How pissed should Ulrich be when many are considering him as having a chance?

Lance is looking like a man on a mission. Granted its only day 1 but hes on fire to do what no man has ever done before. To win 7.

Lance has a Max VO2 of approx 85 and resting heartrate of 32-34.

Amazing! Max VO2 of relatively fit males is 40 and resting heartrate 60.

For those interested Boonen has just won for the second day in a row.

No changes at the top.

Major changes at the top today. But With the Alps looming, I don't think that Lance is overly worried. :p

Lance did some major damage to the field and primarily the big hitters today. This was the first real test in this years Tour. Although it stamps Lances authority on the race, he has by know means won. There are still plenty of hard days still to come.

Stage 13

This was one of the most exciting finishes of the tour yet, with Robbie McEwen winning stage 13.

There were two riders with a large lead. One American and one French. As they approached the 1 kilo mark to the finish line they both procrastinated about who was going to attack, and in doing so they allowed the pack to catch up and blow by them. You really had to see it to believe it. It was an amazing finish to a great race.

Lance is still in yellow.

If Lance wins this again, it will the greatest athletic achievement of any human being in history in any sport, in any era. Coming back from cancer, he battled not only physically, but mentally, against the best in the world over many years and still won. Absolutely phenominal!!!!!!
