I hate Bing.

Windows 7 seems intent on forcing you to use Bing and such for searches, mapping, etc.

I would like to be able to highlight something, right click, then search with google, or map with google (not Bing)

I also want to get rid of or uninstall Bing anything from my machine - eg. "Bing Bar"

How does one go about this?

Plus there is Opera as another option.

hiya WoodPeckr, I am usin Opera...can almost but not quite gain the same control of my browsing experience, as I do with Firefox....extensions such as NotScripts, NoAds Advanced, Opera AdBlock and Ghostery almost get me there.

Download Google Chrome, which IMO is the best browser.......should you need IE for any sites in particular ie. MS websites, you can go to the chrome web store and add an app "IE Tab" which allows Chrome to act as if it's IE without IE's shortcomings https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hehijbfgiekmjfkfjpbkbammjbdenadd

I love the fact that Chromes address bar is used for URL's, all searches and even works as a calculator. Themes, extensions and Chrome Web Store make it the most complete, simplest browser available.

Bingbar...

Start > Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features > Uninstall or Change a Program.

I looked through the list as he instructed and there it was: Search > Version 1.2
