On advice from a friend, I ordered a book, Pizza, Pincushions, and playing it Straight.. A non-fiction novel written by an Australian lesbian sp who had spent time working in a legal brothel. Articulate, funny, truthful insider story which is more about the day to day life she leads, how she compartmentalizes dealing with all types of clients, her views on said types. She breaks them down into categories, the least favourite of which are so called Hobbyists, and how they see sp's as something less than human, as notches, stories to brag about, etc.. Gives a very refreshing perspective from the other side. Highly recommend reading this..

I think that point of view on hobbyists is a great way to show us how much of an impact those types of clients/people can have on these ladies. That sad part is that, like most things, it's a loud minority who are like that. They're crude and degrade the women that they love to see so much. A lot of whom I got into arguments with on this board about how they speak about these ladies just because they can hide behind a screen name and keyboard. Most of whom only active on the blue board now because myself and many others refuse to tolerate those kinds of members here.

Unfortunately for us, because of these men we all have a tendency to get painted with the same brush, in broad strokes, just for being part of a board like this. But the majority of us are actually respectful, good clients who all have our reasons for participating that also use this as a community to share our experiences with the only people we know we can despite the anonymity. The SPs on this platform know who the respectful, good quality members on here are and they understand this. They also know who the not so great members are and can more easily avoid them.

While we can't control the actions of others, it would greatly help if all of us remember to treat all SPs with respect and be good clients whenever possible. That way we can help to erase this negative stigma that this particular former SP has been tainted by because of the shitty people among us.

What I found most interesting was, and I wonder how universal it is, is that she very clearly states that they don't get her best effort, because they don't deserve it..

And this is exactly the type of conversation I was hoping to start, create, stimulate..
