Cuba...where's the best resort for fun?

Thinking of planning a getaway this December for a bit of R&R.
I'll visit Havana for the culture but are there any resorts which are recommended for good partying and clubbing? Not really looking for SP's, since I'd much prefer local gals.

Actually, lwed, I have a friend who organizes trips to Cuba. He himself goes about 4-5 times a year for the last several years. Is there anything else that would be important to you as far as amenities go?

Nothing really fancy, Red. But probably an all inclusive type resort so I don't have to worry about meals and drinks.
I'd probably golf one day if it was available, but otherwise just relaxing at the beach during the day and clubbing in the evenings.

Just to let you know, the police are clamping down on local girls going with tourists. I was there earlier this year, and saw police chasing girls down because they were out of the area they lived in. Quite depressing, actually. First offence is a warning, then they are fined and eventually face jail time too. If you visit, the girls are terrified of being caught, so discretion is of the utmost importance.

This has been going on for several years to varying degrees depending on the area. The pace was stepped up apparently earlier this year. I generally stay in the Santa Lucia area the last several times at least. Hanging out with local girls was a bit troublesome at night as police presence was pretty heavy mostly. And the girls are always on the lookout. They'll see the cops coming long before you will and will scatter until they leave and then come back. Daytime on the beach was no problem at all as the police were not around.

If you do hang out with local girls just be aware of this and be descreet because they can get in serious trouble if they get caught. Many are willing to take the chance though, very discreetly.
