It's bad enough that they fired Lisa LaFlame and kept Sandi Renaldo, but what really irks me is the fact that they keep playing the Big Bang theory reruns ad nauseum. Again and again at all hours of the day., night, afternoon and even prime time. The show sucks anyway. What a pathetic network! At least CBC tries to produce actual Canadian content , although some of it is kinda weak, some are good. CTV has one American show that they keep flogging , much to our chagrin. Maybe their head of programming is a member of the Barenaked Ladies, who love the royalties for that theme song.

Also it's summer time, rerun city. Aside from Kim's convenience, which got meh pretty fast and is no longer running, I'd rather watch a rerun of BBT than "actual Canadian concent" Hell I'd rather watch a BIg Bang video than most CanCon, they might not be Twice or Girls Generation but they are better than CanCon.
As it is, I don't even bother watching TV anymore except for a wee bit of CP24. Just keep it on the youtube or do something else while I wait for something decent to watch from the Kdrama world or for something watchable to drop from Indian cinema at https://einthusan.tv/intro/ * and of course going to the movies once in a while.

At least we're not sinking hundreds of millions of tax dollars into keeping them on the air (like CBC).
The fact that they aren't making any good shows anymore is the main reason for this. If you think BBT is run ad nauseum on CTV1 and CTV2 you should watch the CTV Comedy Channel. Its either BBT or Friends 85% of the time.
I like the BBT its quite likely the best sitcom produced this century. I also like Sandi Rinaldo, she's an icon. However I don't watch CTV News anymore.

Yes, CBC uses public money but I think its mandate is also to go where no private broadcaster goes, like the far north. The problem with the CBC is it both uses public money and is too lefty.

Corner Gas was good, but by the time it ended it said everything it needed to. Sometimes you gotta know when to end a run.
One thing I like about Kdramas is that they almost never get a second season. 16 one hour episodes [usually] and it's done. Even then in the second half they went to wander and lose focus. Jdramas have 10 45 minute episodes which would probably be perfect for the Kdramas, pity most Japanese TV and movies tend to be kinda depressing and emuish. There, I said it.
Who still watches cable TV these days only very old people.
I find TERB entertaining and hilarious at times. I'm a member of two other chatrooms but they don't allow pictures of nude women.
