With the charges of murder against Pistorius in South Africa, it occurred to me that many folk might not understand the actual game. Except for its deserved reputation of being boring. I was obliged to play the game in grammar school in the UK, but did not enjoy it. But I do understand it. So, for the curious, this is true.
When the side that’s in goes in, the side that’s out goes out.
The side that’s out then tries to get the side that’s in, out.
When the side that’s out gets the side that’s in out, the side that’s out then goes in and the side that was in, goes out, and tries to get the side that was out, but is now in, out.
When the side that was in, and is now out, gets the side that was out and is now in out, the match is over.
Anyone curious why I did not like cricket?
