credit history

hey guys....

got a questions for you all....my credit history i believe is a lil messed as i have missed payments on my cards, not b/c i didnt have the money, but simply i forgot to pay on time on various occassions. i applied for a recent credit card and i was rejected, and that suxs lol. so i would like to know, how can i fix it now? pls help, thx you.

You should check your credit report with Equifax.
I got turned down for a CC once because there was some bogus delinquency regarding a Bay card that I never owned.

There must be more than a couple of late payments to this story.
What happened to that card?

You must request with CRA in writing that you are disputing these late payments. By law CRA must respond in 30 days, and everything on your credit must be accurate, complete and verifiable and must be corrected/deleted. Ask to see if the creditor has proof of the the late payments and if they don't ask them to delete. Some credit card companies keep your statements from years ago, so i'd check with the creditor about that.

Disputing items with CRA is very difficult and can take a very long to get some results. You must not give up if you want to see results.

If they don't have proof file a complaint with the Ontario Consumer Protection.
