Hi there! Hope everyone is thinking naughty thoughts..... don't worry Santa doesn't count these ones:))))
I wanted to find out people's opinion on wearing cowboy boots. I love mine but rarely wear them anymore thinking they are out. They are so comfy...that fits like an old glove feeling. So just curious about whether you think ...... "wouldn't be caught dead in em" or" who cares what they think.....cowboy boots rule!"

I think that if you like them and feel comfortable (both physically and aesthetically) wearing them, you should go for it! Going against the grain shows a lot of character IMO.

Fashion usually has a cycle of 30-40 years. In the 70's the wide bottom "soul pipes" were popular as pants.
30 Years later they have made a comeback

So why not start a new trend

it's easy to follow a trend but much more difficult to start one. if you like wearing them go for it, it might catch on.

If I can wear my Kenora Dinner Jacket then you for sure can wear your cowboy boots. But only if you eat all your meals at truck stops and listen to CW. ;)

Seriously who cares what the current trends are. I wear what ever I feel good in. If some other people don't like it or think I am not up to date, that's their problem.

At the range!!!
A friend of mine works for Reebok and she told me that they did a study on various types of footwear. Apparently cowboy boots are the only footwear that have gone in and out of fasion more than once. She claims that on average the cowboy boot goes in and out every 7 yrs. It's been about 7 yrs since she gently told me to put mine away, so maybe it's time to bust them out again lol.

Wear them,
I have worn Cowboy boots for the past 14 years and nothing has felt more comfortable.
Don't worry what other people think. You need to be true to yourself.

I wore my last pair of shoes over 40 years ago. I have about 4 pair of boots that I wear depending on the circumstance. Two black and 2 tan pairs. Two of them are still good as dresswear and two all scuffed up for kicking around in. The only other footwear I have are a pair of slippers for the evening and a pair of Denver Hayes for fishing from the boat. My ankles still get cold wearing the Denvers tho.

Dave

PS

Some times I run into an ahole who decides to comment about them like "Where did you leave your horse" and I ususally have a good answer for them. Like the dude who said

"Those toes look good for cockroach hunting in the corners"

I replied:

"That was why I wore them to your house."

Cowboy boots?

Wouldn't get caught dead in them.
My friends would laugh and kick the shit out of me if they saw me wearing them (or at they very least shun me like I had the plague). The urban city has no place for cowboys boots except in Strip Clubs and maybe Boy's town.
Maybe its a generational thing but I don't think I know anyone my age (and younger) wearing them except for a buddy's younger brother who is white trash and listens to country.

My prefence is running shoes/sneakers. Fashionable and Functional!!!

Hey, nothing wrong with a good pair of trackpants (as long as they aren't Addidas tear aways).

I'm always working out/training so I'm usually wearing a track suit (or warm up suit). They are comfy!!

A few buddies (the conservative style guys) call me Puffy (though I'm not black and I don't look Somalian).
Its funny though, when I wear it people start talking to all "ebonical" or "ghetto". I mean I'll say "what's up" or "see ya" but that's a far as I go and I prefer speaking "English" rather than slang.
One girl at one store starting talking to me all in slang all of a sudden and it got me all bewildered. I guess its the suit and me looking somewhat younger than I am.

Sort of ran off there... sorry...

It's been good to know ya
Definately, wear whatever you feel like wearing and do not worry what other people think. If it makes you feel good inside and out that is all that matters. If you like them than wear them. :)
